pastels

Mon Jan 12, 2009, 7:23 PM
I have a working camera again, and a ton of inspiration... but a lack of proper materials. I learned how to use chalk pastels, and discovered how much I enjoy them. It's like charcoal, but in color! Upon wondering whether or not I had any in my room, I came upon a large stash of oil pastels. Now, I've never experimented in oil pastels (minus my giant foot), so decided to give it a try. I have determined only one thing: it's messy!

I'm currently working on a series of watercolors called "Under the Autumn Trees", which by request will be expanding to include all seasons. Technique: wet on wet with line (line being done with simple ballpoint pen). Main colors: ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson. Scenes range from green grasses to falling leaves to snow.

Hey, you have the same name as me! Anyway, Printmaking Self was really detailed, that was cool. And I liked the style and concept of Freedom. Keep it up. :)

Hey there! I've still been debating what to actually put up on here, as most of my art is at home collecting dust at the moment... so I've only got stuff that I've done this year. Right now, I've put up some old stuff I've done in Paint, as well as my first printmaking attempt, and one of the first anime-ish things I've drawn. I'm thinking about putting a couple more things I've drawn by hand, as well as a couple monoprints. If there's anything you'd like to see posted up, let me know!
